That said…My understanding is that Startmail was *not* sold and did not get a major new investor. Please let me know if Startpage/Startmail says something else.

Startpage is only giving you resources based on your location. Startpage is still a great pick for people who simply want to stop feeding the NSA through Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft.
